FMC
Bonds
As required by the US Federal Maritime Commission (FMC),
all forwarders who operates as OTI - NVOCC and consolidate ocean shipments to
the US are required to file both a traffic and US$150,000 performance bond with the FMC.
The purpose of the bond is to respond to claims filed against forwarders by the shipping
public and to ensure compliance with FMC regulations. Failure to maintain a bond on file
with the FMC could result in traffic cancellation and penalty assessements.
As the dominant
forwarder in the transpacific trade route, Piff / EuroBox has filed the both the traffic
and performance bond with the FMC to ensure our customers' interest and
compliance with the FMC regulations. (OTI No.013142)
